This Revolution Wardrobe Stable Overshirt is made from a heavyweight 8-wales organic cotton corduroy fabric, with a soft and velvety surface. The shirt is detailed with signature square utility chest pockets, a front panel finished with tonal buttons and adjustable sleeve cuffs. The neck loop is made for easy hanging, and for added comfort, it is made with a traditional double-layered back yoke with a box pleat, which gives you more freedom of movement. Wear it as a warm everyday shirt during the cold season, or layer it over a printed tee or sweatshirt for a casual look. Throughout the decades, corduroy has been highly prized for its durability and cool look. Corduroy originated in ancient Egypt and was considered a fabric of high society. In the 18th century, corduroy began to descend down the social ladder, when British textile manufacturers developed the signature wales that would transform it into the corduroy we know today. The fabric quickly became a favourite with schoolmasters and academics, and because corduroy was considered a very strong fabric, it became popular as a material for working men's clothing after the industrial revolution. During the 1970s, corduroy gained fashion status, as an anti-establishment badge of working-class cool, and this status continues today.
